A catalogue of thousands means nobody looked at any of them

The large marketplaces hold millions of domain names, because holding a name is cheap. No person has examined any individual one of them. A machine acquires, a machine lists, a machine renews.

So what you get is a name and a number, and every question that actually matters is left to you. Has anyone used this before. Does it mean something unfortunate in another language. Is there a trademark sitting on it. Who already comes up when you search it.

We answered those questions before buying the name, which is why there are a few dozen here rather than a few thousand. Everything that did not hold up was left on the market for somebody else.

The work is already done, and it is on the page

Open any listing and you will find where the name has been, what it means, what it would suit, and what already ranks for it in search. Four paragraphs of evidence instead of a price tag.

Some of these names carried a working site for fifteen or twenty years before the owner let them go. Several are ordinary words somewhere in the world — one is Indonesian for oxide, one is Swedish for “send”, one carries the Latin root for light. A founder in the right market recognises that immediately, and it is the kind of thing nobody finds by browsing a list.

Nobody is trying to sell you anything

The name check is free, needs no account, and has no interest in the outcome. If your name is clear, go and register it wherever you like — that is the good ending, and it is the one we would rather see than somebody discovering the problem after the signage is printed.

There is no upsell, no “here are twenty alternatives”, and no suggestion of a name we happen to own. The check answers the question you asked.

No prices, because a name is worth what it is worth to you

The same kind of domain has sold for a few hundred and for tens of thousands, depending entirely on who needed it. A listed price only ever caps what somebody might have offered.
